About

About

AUTHOR. MENTOR. ASCETIC. HEALER.

Having spent 15 years living throughout Asia, Wesley Chaplin studied Chinese and Indian spiritual traditions living in remote temples in the mountains of central China for several years, as well as staying with Jain monks in the dusty remote regions of Rajasthan.

Today Wesley Chaplin brings his knowledge and experience to help others create a more meaningful, greater quality life. He helps through guidance, teaching, and hands on healing in Boulder, Colorado.

In 2000 Wesley began his journey into traditional spiritual practices and philosophy. This journey initially led to him moving to China and living with Chan Buddhist Monks studying meditation and internal cultivation. This intial exposure to Chinese culture and tradition eventually led to him moving to a remote monastery in the mountains of central China. Wesley spent five years as a Daoist (Taoist) ascetic focusing on meditation, mindfulness, and traditional healing techniques.

In 2006 Wesley left his lifestyle as a monk and began traveling and teaching meditation, tai chi, and qigong. Since then he has taught hundreds of people throughout the world, including in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Brussels, New Delhi, Chicago, Rajasthan, Denver, and Thailand.

In 2011 Wesley continued his search for knowledge into the heart of India. Living in India Wesley initially studied classical Hatha yoga, focusing on the health and philosophy beyond just physical poses. Learning to master the different breathing techniques, chakra cleaning, relaxation, and a variety of meditation techniques. During his learning of Hatha yoga Wesley was exposed to a variety of other Indian traditions, including Preksha meditation practiced by Jain monks. Wesley was then invited to spend some time living with and training in a remote temple (Ashram) in north western India under the guidance of Jain Monks. Wesley focused on mindfulness and meditation during this time.

In 2015, at the request of some of his teachers and many of his students, Wesley began writing to start passing along some of his knowledge. Wesley’s writings range from instructional health practices to helping develop self awareness. Wes aims to help people find their inner healing ability through self awareness.

In late 2016, Wesley moved to Boulder, Colorado where he began teaching, lecturing, and healing throughout Colorado and the US.
